PAINTING
JEWELLERY
CERAMICS
TEXTILES
I have always enjoyed making and creating things since
early childhood. Earlier interests have included cross stitch, card making and
hobby ceramics.
After spending a lot of years working in the oil & gas industry on the Humber
bank I decided a couple of years ago that the time had come to get out of the
"rat race", primarily to care for my mum who had been diagnosed with cancer, but
also to pursue my dream of making art and craft my life.
I've painted on and off for the past 20 years as a way to relax, experimenting
with different media, my favourite being acrylics as I love the wide range of
effects that can be achieved. I enjoy painting seascapes and modern abstracts.
My inspiration can com from sometimes the most unusual of things and if it
sparkles or glitters you can guarantee I'll use it in one of my abstracts !!
My jewellery making started when a friend bought me a kit one birthday. I
enjoyed this so much that I went on a few workshops and people were quickly
commenting on the unusual pieces I wore. I was soon being asked to make things
for them and I've been successfully selling my work at craft fairs and at
various other outlets for the past 3 years.
I have already won a couple of prizes for my artwork and am actively involved in
organising craft fairs and a few art exhibitions throughout North Lincolnshire.
I am also a member of The Country Craft Association.
I currently have work displayed in The Country Tea Room in Louth and have a busy
year ahead with various fairs and exhibitions. Please go to my website for a
full listing of dates and places where my work can be seen
