Jean Underwood
Being born, raised & having lived my life in this area of rural Lincolnshire I have an intense love of the countryside & an ardent affiliation with country life. In 2006 I had to leave my profession with the NHS after 2 years to become a full time carer. This opened up new opportunities for me to pursue…gardening, craftwork, calligraphy and my long time ambition to paint.
I am a self taught artist & during the last three years I have progressed due to the guidance & influence of the artist at the art workshop which I attend. Over these months due to my passion, determination & hard work I have gained enough confidence to be able to achieve the works I produce today.
My passion is for watercolour & acrylic mediums or a mixture of both. Most of my watercolour works are of simple rural landscapes, fishing harbour & village scenes with the exception of the acrylic work which may be anything I feel is ‘eye catching’ & needs the vibrancy achieved by using acrylic medium.
My work is card mounted, with some framed but purely for display purposes. Frames I feel are personal to individual taste. Although the mounts are various sizes they will fit standard frames.
