PAINTING
Although I did a little painting in oils when I was in my teens, I had not painted again until 2000-2002 when I was doing a qualification in Horticulture and Garden Design. I enjoyed it so much that I began learning how to paint in watercolours when on holiday in Fleet Bay, Dumfries and Galloway. I sold my first painting there and this spurred me on to develop my talent further. I paint mainly landscapes or seascapes, but because of my love of flowers, I enjoy painting them too.
Commissions have included painting a pair of border terriers, a seascape and a windsurfer. I have done a series of paintings of Fleet Bay which I keep adding to each year I go there.
I am also a keen photographer and love taking landscapes and close ups of flowers.
Some of my work is framed but mostly just has a card mount as peoples taste in frames is so individual. Most of my pictures either 12 x 8 with a 16 x 12 mount or 8 x 6 with a 10 x 8 mount so they fit in standard frame sizes. Prints and limited edition prints of some of my paintings are also available.
