I find that instruction comes from any medium, and that I always enjoy that the challenge working with oils/acrylics/spray paint gives the image of what I imagine the art form should look like, and that bright strong colours are what I seem to favour. I have tried water colours, chalks and pastels, but for my type of art I prefer the stronger elements.
As regards the subjects to paint, I seem to get an idea and then just go for it. Sometimes I work very quickly and other times it's just try, try and try again. With oils it's easy to wipe off, with spray paint it's easy to spray over, but acrylics are difficult to over paint.
Selling paintings for me is always a buzz and the icing on the cake is commission work. A very nice surprise it have a letter of acceptance from an exhibition or gallery and be able to show your art work to the public. Should you sell from that venue - what a 'buzz'.
